Adhan & Iqamah
Call the Adhan into the right ear and Iqamah into the left ear of the newborn.

Tahneek
Chew a fresh or dry date until very soft and place it in the baby's mouth. Honey may also be used.

Naming the Child
It is preferable to have the child named by a praiseworthy person. Name the child after the names of the Ambiyaa and virtuous people.

Removing Hair on 7th Day
On the seventh day remove the child's hair and weigh it. Give silver equivalent to the weight of the hair in charity.

Aqeeqah
Perform Aqeeqah on the seventh day. For a boy: two goats or sheep. For a girl: one goat or sheep.

Circumcision
It is Sunnah for a male child to be circumcised. Should be done while the child is young to minimise discomfort.
